On behalf of the District Governor Team of DG Bill and VDGs Jay and Les, along with our exceptional convention planning committee, I welcome you to the most spectacular and interesting convention ever held in District 32C. We expect an overflow crowd so please register early.
This year’s District 32C Convention will be held in the “Magic City”, Florence, South Carolina, from February 5th to February 7th. Florence was chosen as the host city due to its central location and easy access for all South Carolina Lions by either Interstate 95 or Interstate 20.
To attract Lions from across the State to our convention this year we have decided to go a little “retro” and bring Lions back to our initial focus – Vision. This is the 95th anniversary of Helen Keller’s famous speech to the Lions in attendance at the 1925 International Convention in Cedar Point, Ohio. Our Theme is classic “Knights of the Blind”. You can expect a few interesting characters and dynamic events planned to highlight this historic event.
This is also the first COVID-SAFE Lions convention held in South Carolina. We are taking great care to ensure the safety of every attendee including the enforcement of State and CDC guidelines to wear face masks in public areas, social distancing, and room occupancy limits. We have not scheduled any receptions, gatherings, or clusters of any kind and will have designated “Knights” enforcing the rules.
To top it off, our featured speaker for the Saturday evening Gala Awards Banquet will be a physician and International Director from Puerto Rico, Dr. José Marrero.
You won’t want to miss this event!
