Greetings Fellow Lions!                                                                                         November 2019

Soon it will be Lions District 32-C Convention time.  The convention is the weekend of January 31 and February 1, 2020 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in North Charleston, SC.  At the convention we come together to show who we are, what we do and to be proud of our accomplishments.  It is also a time to hear about “what’s the latest” going on in the district and to meet and make old and new Lions friends.

We are planning a great convention and have some new wrinkles.  They include:

  • A first time ever convention website which you are currently viewing.  Convention information will be updated periodically on the website until the convention.   Access the website to get the latest convention news.

    • On the ‘Home’ page there is a link to the registration form which can be filled out on-line, printed and mailed with full payment to the registrar by January 17, 2020.

    • There are links to both the club ad and business ad order forms on the ‘Greetings’ page.

    • The Delegate Form has a link on the ‘Greetings’ page also.  If you are a delegate, please complete it, have it signed by your club President, club Secretary or District Governor and bring it to the convention.

  • ID Mark Lyon, a second year International Director from Brookfield, Connecticut, will be the Convention’s honored guest and speaker at the Saturday Banquet.

  • Saturday’s Opening Session will include ”what’s going on” in South Carolina Lions with presentations on LCFI 100, New Voices, Ambassador Program, Blind Fishing, Camp Leo, and more.

  • At the Awards Luncheon Dr. Mary Sedgwick will relate her experiences with the challenges of going from sighted to profoundly visually impaired, her introduction to the break-through eSight technology and her return to an active, fulfilled life.

  • Willie Jeffries, an Elloree, South Carolina Lion, will be the Tailgate Party featured speaker.  Jeffries, who coached football at South Carolina State, Wichita State and Howard University, has received numerous awards during his career and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2010.  His overall record was 180-132-6 and he has coached numerous hall of fame and professional players.

I look forward to seeing you at our up-coming District 32-C Convention.   You can contact me, convention co-chair Lion Mark Suckow or registrar Lion Cindy Taylor using the ‘Contact the Committee’ message block on the ‘Contact’ page or call me at the number below.
